"UNTIL DEATH DO US APART" PART 1.2

Hackzilla reporting from the weekly grind.

Last weeks shows went very well. The Hello McFly show @ RookiesCromwell, CT was interrupted by a Jet vs. Patriots game so we only ended up playing for about 2 hours, which is a break considering most of our acoustic nights consist of playing for about 3 to 4 hours. Let's just say I wasn't too upset to hear about our early night.

I did find a few things to be amazingly funny about the people that came to the bar to watch the game. I have never seen so many Jets fans in CT in my entire life! Obviously it was because of the whole Farve trade but these guys where really into it! I mean it was like crushing beer cans on your skull "into it"!

That being said I never really understood the interest of a group of guys getting together to go to a bar, to sit with a bunch of other guys to watch a sporting event? I mean think about it? The whole manly thing? That doesn't really sound too manly to me? Going to a bar that only dudes are going to be at to get drunk together? But what do I know I'm a heterosexual.

The Dirty Report Card:

I really should call it the Dirty report card! Only because we play out so much it kind of needs its own blog, but since I'm not doing that I'll just refer to this section of the blog as the "Dirty Report Card".

The show was very good. There was a ton of people there, as they normally are on a Friday night. The band was playing really well thru 3 sets and my guitar playing was on point, except for a minor fuck up in "Life Is A Highway", I'm not sure what I was thinking of when I skipped to the solo instead of playing the bridge, but I guess it happens when you mix drinks, loud music, and a large crowd of people singing and dancing to your band, you just seem to lose focus from time to time.

I didn't get a chance to get together with the guys to work on the Original band last week only because it was a busy week, between rehearsals and shows there just wasn't any time. But I am looking to get together with them soon to knock out a few more tunes. I was also contacted by Endiya/former Living Trust drummer Keith "The Rockness Monster" about him possibly coming aboard to help out with the new band. I have yet to talk to him about it in depth but I think it's something we might be interested in exploring as it will allow us to have an extra guy on guitar.

This week is going to be just as crazy as last week. Two shows coming up, one with Hello McFly @ Murphys on Thursday (didn't I just play there?) and All-Stars in Manchester on Friday night with Dirty. This will be the last show of the year with Mike doing lead vocals as he has some out of town business matters to tend to. That being said we will be having a special guest singer for the last two remaining Dirty shows of 2008.

I'm not going to steal my drummers thunder by announcing it myself on here, I'll just let you guys wait and see for yourself.

What I can tell you is that we are learning about 7 or 10 new songs to perform at the shows that he is filling in for (Breakers 11/29 W. Springfield, MA and Up Or On The Rocks 12/5 Hartford, CT). That in itself is draining but it will be well worth it!

And on that note!!!  I'm off to work on these songs!!!!

DUM-DE-DE-DUM, DE-DE-DUM-DE-DE-DUM, DE-DAA-DAAAAA
DUM-DE-DE-DUM, DE-DE-DUM-DE-DE-DUM, DE-DAA-DAA-DAA-DAA-DAAAA!

(note: the brightness of the head stock, the entire guiar is like this!)

ps. It was the debut of the Silver Sparkle Jackson jj1 at Murphys and I thought it was so funny that the light relect so much that I was actually able to blind people in the front row it it! ha-ha!! I admit to doing it to a few people on purpose!
